God is BIGger

As I was sitting in the rocking chair attempting to get Jemma down for her afternoon nap, it occurred to me...God is bigger than sleep deprivation!

For too long, I have been using sleep deprivation as an excuse...a crutch really. And then it hit me, my God, the creator of the universe, is BIG...and better yet, he's bigger than my exhaustion, my crabbiness and my limited joy--all attributed to sleep deprivation.

So, while I'm still yearning for an uninterrupted night (let's suggest 5 hours of sleep for starters), I know that even though I may not feel rested, God has my back. It's not up to me to MAKE myself uncrabby...it's my job to accept God's grace that covers my crabbiness.

And as Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9: "Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take sleep deprivation away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." (Bold is mine)
